Masahiro Anada

Masahiro Anada, Ph.D.

Associate Professor of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Hokkaido University

 Masahiro Anada was born in Hokkaido in 1971. He graduated from Hokkaido University in 1994 and received his Ph.D. from the same university in 1999 under the direction of Professor S. Hashimoto. From 1999 to 2002, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University with Professor Y. Kishi. Back in Japan, he worked as Instructor at Hokkaido University from 2002 to 2007, and as Assistat Professor from 2007 to 2010, and was promoted to Associate Professor at 2010. His current projects are mainly concerned with (1) enantioselective carbene transformations catalyzed by chiral dirhodium(II) complexes, and (2) total syntheses of bioactive natural compounds.
